Discreet multi-room audio and video

It has become common for new executive homes or large renovation projects to have multi-room audio and video systems incorporated within the build. These allow for the distribution and control of high quality audio and video to be listened to or viewed in multiple rooms, including a home cinema.

Traditionally the technology has involved a central source of equipment linked to a remote control or touch screen, loudspeakers - often hidden in the ceiling - and a LCD or plasma monitor in each room. This is now developing to incorporate more networked solutions.

Increasingly we are finding that owners of new builds are asking us to design an infrastructure for their multi-room audio and video systems that will accommodate emerging technologies such as 'streaming video' and 'IP-based' distribution, rather than just traditional analogue systems.

Moving with the times

Unlike integrated lighting which has to be fully operational from day one, we recommend that you delay committing to a particular vendor's products or architecture for your multi-room audio system until your home is complete and you are living in it.

This is because the AV industry is undergoing rapid change towards digital IP-based systems. Therefore, you will benefit from significant improvements in both functionality and cost over the timeframe of your house build.

Unlike most custom installation companies we have no vested interest in promoting a particular approach or vendor, so we are able to offer impartial yet qualified advice. This allows you to make an informed decision as to the best solutions to meet your current and future multi-room audio and video needs. If requested, however, we can assist you in selecting a vendor system and retailer, supervising their installation where appropriate.
